What is Soda blasting?

Soda blasting is a nondestructive method in which sodium bicarbonate is applied against a surface using compressed air. 


Applications

Soda blasting is used for cleaning, paint stripping, mold removal, restoration, graffiti removal, industrial equipment maintenance, rust removal, molecular steel passivation against rust, masonry cleaning and restoration, boat and hull cleaning, soot remediation and smoke damage.

What are other types of blasting media?

Walnut Shell- used for blasting sheet metal and fiberglass.

Aluminum Oxide- used to rapidly remove rust and paint.

Crushed glass - used to rapidly remove rust and paint. 

Garnet- used for blasting in shipyards and paint removal.


Does Soda damage glass?

Soda does not damage glass, rubber, chrome. No preparation for car needed before soda blasting. I would like

mention, I always recommend prior to preparing car from primer use half vinegar and half water. Soda is 100% soluble.

All types of Media will require clean up, it can leave particles in seams and small crevices.
